Catering questions, answered
Pricing, minimums, lead times, dietary options, weddings, holidays, rentals, and florals — everything we get asked most often.
Home / General
Yes. Fremont Catering Company serves events throughout Fremont, including Central Fremont, Mission San Jose, Niles, Irvington, Warm Springs, Ardenwood, and nearby neighborhoods. We also regularly accommodate events in Newark, Union City, Milpitas, Hayward, San Jose, Santa Clara, Pleasanton, Dublin, and other nearby Bay Area communities.
Delivery availability is based on the event address, order size, service requirements, and date. Enter your event details online to view available options and pricing.
Absolutely. We provide corporate catering for team breakfasts, employee lunches, executive meetings, trainings, client presentations, happy hours, holiday celebrations, and larger company events.
Choose convenient drop-off catering, individually packaged boxed meals, or a staffed service package with setup and cleanup. Recurring workplace orders and events with multiple dietary needs can also be accommodated.
For birthdays, baby showers, graduations, anniversaries, celebrations of life, and other gatherings at home, you can choose between simple food delivery and a more complete hosted-event experience.
Drop-off catering is ideal when you want freshly prepared food delivered ready to serve. Full-service catering is better when you would like our team to manage buffet setup, serving equipment, event staff, replenishment, and breakdown.
Most drop-off orders require at least 72 hours’ notice. Staffed and full-service events generally require a minimum of 10 days, although reserving two to three weeks ahead provides more menu and staffing availability.
Popular Saturdays and high-demand periods—especially graduation season and the November and December holidays—can fill considerably earlier. Booking as soon as your date is confirmed is recommended.
Yes. Many of our menus include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free selections, making it easier to serve groups with a variety of preferences.
Dietary information is displayed with applicable menu items and reviewed as part of the final order. Please provide accurate allergy information when ordering. Although we take dietary requests seriously, food is prepared in facilities where common allergens may also be present.
Weddings
Begin with the atmosphere, timeline, venue, and guest experience you want.
A staffed buffet gives guests flexibility and generally creates a relaxed, social dinner. Family-style service brings shared platters to each table and combines the warmth of a communal meal with seated service. A plated dinner offers the most structured and formal experience, with individual courses served directly to guests.
Our team can help you compare the service requirements, staffing, rentals, and overall investment associated with each format.
Wedding catering can include menu planning, food preparation, service staff, buffet or table-service setup, food replenishment, and cleanup of the catering areas.
Depending on your selections, we can also coordinate serving equipment, china, glassware, flatware, linens, tables, chairs, appetizers, cakes, coffee and tea service, bartenders, florals, and tablescape design.
Your proposal will identify exactly what is included so responsibilities are clear before the wedding day.
Yes. Wedding catering may be combined with rentals, floral arrangements, and coordinated tablescape design.
This can simplify communication and help the guest tables, buffet, linens, serving pieces, and flowers feel visually connected. It also allows setup and breakdown timing to be organized through fewer vendors.
You may still use outside vendors for selected services when preferred.
Wedding catering packages generally range from approximately $55 to $120 per guest, depending on the menu, meal format, and service level.
A casual buffet will generally fall toward the lower end of the range, while plated meals, premium ingredients, and more elaborate service will cost more. Rentals, florals, appetizers, cakes, bartenders, specialty beverages, and other enhancements can increase the final per-person investment.
Delivery, applicable service-related charges, and optional gratuity should also be considered when establishing the total wedding budget.
Guest count is only one part of wedding pricing.
The final cost is also influenced by the selected entrées, buffet versus plated service, staffing needs, venue access, event duration, rentals, tabletop choices, florals, appetizers, beverages, cake service, and cleanup requirements.
For example, a buffet held in one accessible room may require fewer staff hours than a plated dinner involving stairs, multiple spaces, a distant staging area, and a short setup window.
Wedding dinner packages generally begin at 25 guests.
This makes the service suitable for intimate backyard ceremonies as well as larger receptions. The exact package and staffing plan will depend on the guest count, meal style, venue, and services selected.
Yes. Mobile wedding tastings are complimentary for couples with a confirmed wedding booking.
A tasting may also be purchased before signing a contract. When you subsequently book your wedding with us, the tasting charge can be removed from the final bill.
Tastings are intended to help you evaluate selected dishes and refine the menu rather than sample every available item.
The tasting is typically scheduled after you have narrowed down the menu and service style enough to select meaningful dishes to try.
It should take place early enough to allow time for menu decisions and proposal updates, but close enough to the planning process that your preferences, guest needs, and wedding details are reasonably established.
Your coordinator can help determine the most useful timing.
Full-Service Catering
Full-service catering is a strong fit when you want the food service managed from arrival through cleanup rather than assigning those responsibilities to the host, office team, family, or venue.
It is especially useful for weddings, company celebrations, formal dinners, milestone events, holiday parties, and gatherings where food must remain replenished and professionally presented throughout the meal.
For simpler events, drop-off catering may be sufficient when you are comfortable setting out the food, monitoring it, and handling cleanup yourself.
Our full-service team manages the catering setup, food presentation, buffet or table service, replenishment, and breakdown of the catering areas.
Depending on the package selected, service may be buffet-style, family-style, plated, stationed, or passed. Additional services may include coffee and tea service, beverage stations, bartenders, rentals, florals, and complete tablescape design.
Available service formats include staffed buffets, family-style meals, plated dinners, appetizer stations, and tray-passed appetizers.
The best choice depends on your event atmosphere, venue, budget, timeline, and desired guest experience. Buffets offer flexibility and variety, while plated service creates a more structured and formal meal. Family-style service provides a seated experience with shared dishes brought directly to each table.
Yes. Our catering packages provide a convenient starting point, but you can customize the menu and add beverages, desserts, staffing, rentals, florals, and other enhancements before the proposal is finalized.
Changes to the guest count, service style, menu, venue access, or event timeline should be communicated promptly because they may affect staffing, equipment, availability, and pricing.
Most full-service catering packages require at least 25 guests.
For smaller gatherings, drop-off catering with an attendant may provide many of the benefits you need without requiring a complete full-service package. This can be a practical option when you want help with setup, monitoring, or cleanup for a more intimate event.
Booking at least three to four weeks ahead is recommended for the best availability.
Full-service orders may sometimes be accepted as late as ten days before the event, but availability depends on the date, menu, staffing, rentals, and event complexity.
Weekends tend to fill first, and June, November, and December are particularly busy. Large events, weddings, and bookings requiring extensive rentals or florals should be reserved earlier.
Yes. We prepare the food before arriving and do not require an on-site commercial kitchen for most full-service events.
We may still need an appropriate staging area where staff can organize food, equipment, and service items away from guests. Access to water, electrical outlets, refrigeration, or another protected workspace may be helpful depending on the menu and service plan.
Yes. Catering can be combined with guest tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, buffet equipment, floral arrangements, and tablescape design.
Coordinating these services through one team can simplify planning and setup while helping the buffet, guest tables, florals, and tabletop details feel like one cohesive event design.
Boxed Meals
Boxed meals work especially well when guests need to receive food quickly, eat at different times, remain at their desks, or move between meetings and activities.
They are a practical option for Fremont office lunches, employee training days, conferences, school programs, outdoor gatherings, production teams, and events where a traditional serving line would create delays.
Each guest receives a complete, individually packaged meal, making distribution simpler and reducing the need for buffet equipment or on-site food service.
Fremont Catering Company offers individually packaged breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
Available choices include cold continental breakfast boxes, hot breakfast combinations, classic sandwiches and wraps, upgraded artisan lunches, hot lunch entrées, and complete dinner boxes with salad, sides, and bread.
Boxed-meal service is currently available Monday through Thursday.
A minimum of 25 meals applies to each boxed-meal order.
Classic Boxed Lunches and Artisan Boxed Lunches allow a mixture of eligible sandwiches and wraps within the order. Breakfast boxes, hot lunch boxes, and dinner boxes generally require at least 25 of the same selected combination.
Hot boxed meals are built in groups rather than prepared as 25 completely different custom combinations.
When selecting a hot breakfast, lunch, or dinner box, choose the applicable entrée, sides, salad, or bread for the group. Separate dietary meals may be possible when requested in advance, but quantities and available variations should be confirmed before the order is finalized.
Each meal is sealed and individually packaged for convenient distribution.
Boxes include the selected food along with the appropriate utensils and a napkin. Dietary boxes can be labeled separately when the required quantities and restrictions are provided in advance.
Dietary categories can be clearly marked upon request.
For larger workplace orders, you may also ask whether individual names, departments, meal types, or distribution groups can be added. Provide the labeling list in an organized format before the final deadline so the kitchen can confirm what is operationally possible.
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free boxes can be labeled upon request.
Tell us the exact number of meals needed in each category rather than providing only a general note that dietary restrictions are present. Clear quantities help the team prepare, organize, and deliver the correct boxes.
No. A dietary label identifies the requested meal type, but it does not necessarily mean the food was prepared in a completely allergen-free facility.
For guests with serious allergies, provide the specific allergen and relevant details when requesting the order. The team can then review the available options and explain any limitations before the menu is confirmed.
Holiday Catering
We provide holiday catering for office lunches, employee appreciation events, year-end company parties, client dinners, Friendsgiving gatherings, family celebrations, seasonal open houses, and private holiday receptions.
Service may be as simple as delivered trays or as comprehensive as a staffed buffet, family-style meal, or plated dinner with rentals, florals, and event setup.
Drop-off catering is usually the best fit when you want the food delivered ready to serve and your office, family, or venue can manage the meal and cleanup.
Staffed catering is better when you want a team to handle setup, food presentation, replenishment, and guest service. It is especially helpful for company parties, formal dinners, larger gatherings, and events where the host does not want to oversee the buffet.
Yes. Fremont Catering Company offers buffet, family-style, and plated holiday service for workplace events ranging from approximately 25 to more than 400 guests. Full setup and staffing are available for qualifying events.
For a relaxed workplace meal, select holiday entrées, sides, salads, breads, and desserts from the à-la-carte menu.
This allows you to create a complete spread without booking a formal staffed package. Delivered holiday catering works particularly well for team lunches, department celebrations, and smaller office gatherings where employees can serve themselves.
Yes. À-la-carte drop-off catering is available for smaller gatherings and is not limited to the 25-person minimum associated with many full-service packages.
Review the applicable order minimums and tray quantities when building the order so the menu is appropriate for your group.
Many holiday menu items are available in two sizes:
Small trays generally serve approximately 10 guests.
Large trays generally serve approximately 30 guests.
The amount you need also depends on how many entrées and sides you offer. Guests usually take smaller portions of each dish when several options are available.
Florals
You can select individual floral pieces directly from our online offerings or request a custom floral proposal for a more coordinated event design.
Available options include bud-vase groupings, table centerpieces, statement arrangements, floral meadows, ceremony arches, mantle installations, interactive flower bars, balloon installations, and complete tablescape styling. Florals can be added to catered weddings, workplace events, showers, birthdays, memorials, holiday gatherings, and other private celebrations.
The best choice depends on where guests will naturally look and gather.
Bud vases and centerpieces help guest tables feel polished and intentional. A large arrangement can draw attention to a welcome table, bar, gift table, head table, or entryway. Floral meadows and arches create stronger focal points for ceremonies, backdrops, photographs, or room entrances.
For catered events, our signature tabletop broken arch can frame a buffet while keeping the food visible and accessible.
Yes. Individual floral pieces may be ordered à la carte, so you do not need to commit to a complete floral package.
This works well when you only need centerpieces, bud vases, an entry arrangement, a buffet installation, or another targeted floral moment. Larger packages are available when you would like the entire room to feel more fully designed and visually connected.
Our floral packages are based on how much visual presence you want throughout the space.
Simple Florals begin at $500 and provide lighter touches such as centerpieces or bud-vase groupings. Elevated Florals begin at $2,000 and add more substantial centerpieces and floral moments in important areas such as the entry or buffet. The Full Floral Experience begins at $6,000 and is designed to create a cohesive floral look throughout the event.
You may also begin with individual pieces and expand the design once you decide which parts of the venue matter most.
Current à-la-carte pricing includes:
Bud-vase trios from $95 per set
Small centerpieces from $195 each
Medium centerpieces from $275 each
Large centerpieces from $350 each
Statement arrangements from $350 to $600 each
Tabletop meadows from $400 each
Ground meadows from $600 each
Tabletop broken-arch sets from $800
Floral arch installations from $1,350 to $8,500
Mantle installations from $800 to $2,000
Custom bloom bars from $48 per guest
Flower-crown craft bars from $75 per guest
Final pricing may vary when the design requires specialty flowers, unusual mechanics, extensive installation labor, or other custom elements.
Yes. You may share your color palette, preferred style, venue photographs, inspiration images, favorite flowers, and any colors or varieties you would rather avoid.
We use that information to develop a design direction suited to your event rather than reproducing another event exactly. The finished florals will reflect the requested mood, shape, scale, and color balance while using flowers that are fresh and seasonally available.
We honor specific flower requests whenever those varieties are available and appropriate for the design.
Because flower supply changes with the season and wholesale market, a requested stem cannot always be guaranteed. When substitutions are necessary, our designers select a comparable flower based on color, shape, texture, size, and overall visual effect so the intended design remains cohesive.
Rentals
Yes. We can provide many of the essential items needed to create a complete dining or reception setup, including chiavari chairs, resin chairs, guest tables, cocktail tables, buffet tables, linens, china, glassware, flatware, and chafing dishes.
Floral arrangements and coordinated tablescape design may also be added, allowing the rentals, catering presentation, and decorative details to follow one cohesive event plan.
The right rental combination depends on how guests will eat, move through the space, and experience the event.
A seated dinner may require guest tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and flatware. A cocktail-style reception may use a combination of high-top tables, appetizer stations, glassware, and limited seating. Buffet service may also require dedicated food tables, linens, chafing dishes, and serving equipment.
Share your guest count, venue, and service format with our team, and we can help identify an appropriate setup.
Yes. Most clients add rentals directly to a catering or full-service event rather than arranging them as a separate order.
Combining the services allows one team to coordinate food presentation, tables, chairs, linens, serving equipment, setup, and breakdown. Florals and tabletop styling can also be incorporated when a more complete event design is needed.
Yes. On-site attendants are required whenever rentals are booked through us.
Our team handles installation, placement, safe handling, breakdown, and collection of the rental items. This requirement helps ensure that the equipment is set correctly and that clients or venues are not left responsible for moving and managing commercial rental inventory.
We do not require a strict minimum dollar amount for the rental items themselves. However, all rental orders require on-site staffing, and the staffing cost will affect the total investment.
For this reason, rentals are generally most cost-effective when combined with catering, event staff, florals, or a complete full-service package.
Yes. Each guest table rented through Fremont Catering Company includes one standard table linen.
A broad selection of linen colors is available, making it possible to coordinate the tables with your flowers, company branding, wedding palette, or event theme. Specialty linen styles or additional layers may be priced separately when available.
